PetroSA Graduate Engineering Programme Offers Training at Mossel Bay Facility
Energy company PetroSA is inviting unemployed graduates to apply for its Graduate in Training (GIT) Programme for 2026, based at the company’s operations in Mossel Bay in the Western Cape.
The programme gives engineering graduates the chance to gain practical workplace experience inside South Africa’s petrochemical sector. Participants work alongside experienced engineers and project teams while building technical skills needed in large industrial operations.

Programme Overview

Engineering Fields Accepted
Applicants must hold a qualification in one of the following engineering disciplines.
- Mechanical Engineering
- Control Systems Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering or Metallurgy
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
These disciplines support plant operations, maintenance systems, and engineering projects within petrochemical facilities.
What Graduates Will Do
Graduates will gain exposure to technical and operational environments while assisting engineering teams with project work.
Typical responsibilities include
- Supporting engineering teams on project activities
- Conducting technical research and operational analysis
- Preparing reports and documentation for internal teams
- Assisting with engineering project coordination
- Observing and learning from experienced engineers and technical specialists
- Maintaining records of training progress and development activities
The programme focuses on building practical understanding of engineering operations in a real industrial setting.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria.
- Be a South African citizen
- Be an unemployed graduate requiring practical workplace experience
- Have no previous graduate internship experience
- Not currently studying or planning to study during 2026
- Be medically fit to work in an industrial environment
