Medical Specialist Grade 1 to 3 (Family Medicine) (Medical and Medical Ancillary)

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA (or a recognised foreign health professional council in respect of a foreign qualified employee) as a Medical Specialist, Family Physician.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA (or a recognized foreign health professional council in respect of a foreign qualified employee) as a Medical Specialist, Family Physician.
- Ability to work within and lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide service delivery to clients in a Primary Health Care setting and on Hospital level. Knowledge of Community Orientated Primary Care approach and ability to engage all relevant stakeholders in the Ecosystem. Good communication, interpersonal relationships, exceptional leadership and conflict resolution skills and the ability to work in a high stress environment. Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Family Physician.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB). Willing to render Commuted Overtime duties at the Hospital. Willingness to work at the PHC Clinics in the Sub-district
Responsibilities
- Clinical Governance and clinical guidance to facility managers at the Hospital and Clinics.
- Clinical service provision and clinical managerial tasks with regards to medical and allied health staff.
- Clinical service provision at Specialist level in Family Medicine, sub-specialities and Emergencies.
- Training of students, community service staff, Medical Officers and Allied Health staff and appropriate research in Family Medicine.
- Assist Manager: Medical Services with HR and financial resource management duties.
