Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience after registration as a Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council.
  • Basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) that allows registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist.
  • Valid (code B/EB) drivers’ licence. Willingness to register as a Responsible Pharmacist. Willingness to supervise, tutor and train students and staff.
  • Knowledge of National and Provincial Health Policies as well as the Acts and Laws that govern the practice of Pharmacy. Ability to cope with pressure and maintain a high standard of professionalism. Good verbal, as well as written communication skills. Sound Management, communication and conflict handling skills. Computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Management of Drug Supply and Prescribing habits in the hospital and sub-district.
  • Manage, assess and monitor compliance wrt Good Pharmacy Practice, Ideal Clinic and National Core Standards.
  • Take leadership in the hospital and sub-district to establish a value driven pharmacy service and implement policies and guidelines in keeping with the Batho Pele, SAPC, National Drug policy, National and Provincial standard treatment guidelines.
  • Human Resource Management for all Pharmacy staff in hospital and support within the sub-district.
  • Management of Finance and Supply Chain.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and support to Clinical Manager.
