Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience after registration as a Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council.
- Basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) that allows registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist.
- Valid (code B/EB) drivers’ licence. Willingness to register as a Responsible Pharmacist. Willingness to supervise, tutor and train students and staff.
- Knowledge of National and Provincial Health Policies as well as the Acts and Laws that govern the practice of Pharmacy. Ability to cope with pressure and maintain a high standard of professionalism. Good verbal, as well as written communication skills. Sound Management, communication and conflict handling skills. Computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Responsibilities
- Management of Drug Supply and Prescribing habits in the hospital and sub-district.
- Manage, assess and monitor compliance wrt Good Pharmacy Practice, Ideal Clinic and National Core Standards.
- Take leadership in the hospital and sub-district to establish a value driven pharmacy service and implement policies and guidelines in keeping with the Batho Pele, SAPC, National Drug policy, National and Provincial standard treatment guidelines.
- Human Resource Management for all Pharmacy staff in hospital and support within the sub-district.
- Management of Finance and Supply Chain.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and support to Clinical Manager.
