Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 1: None Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
  • Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.   • Basic Computer literacy (MS Office). Ability to function independantly, as well as in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure good patient care. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Willingness to work shifts, night duty, overtime, public holidays and weekends. Willingness to assists at other wards in the hospital and at the clinics in the Sub-district when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of the nursing plan (clinical practice or patient care). Implement standards, practices, criteria, and indicators for quality nursing (quality of practice) Practice nursing and health care in accordance with the laws and regulations relevant to nursing and health care. Maintain constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders. Utilize human, material, and physical resources efficiently and effectively.
