Minimum Requirements

  • An appropriate 3-year B-degree (equivalent or higher) in Finance or Economics
  • Minimum of 3 years' Public Sector Finance experience and understanding of PFMA and Treasury regulations.
  • Knowledge of the following: Administrative procedures relating to financial legislation
  • Norms and standards (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, National and Provincial Treasury Directives and the financial governance environment, including the internal audit framework
  • Verbal and written communications skills, including report writing
  • Ability to think analytical and use data to acquire insights.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop and update financial governance norms and standards
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on compliance with the Public Finance Management Act
  • Maintain and implement the Financial Management Capacity Maturity Model or other relevant governance monitoring
  • Maintain, rollout and update the Governance Framework according to the need of the environment
  • Annual analysis and evaluation of audit outcomes and submission of reports to Cabinet and SCOPA
  • Support institutions with implementation of the governance framework
  • Project Management.
