- Maintain beverage stations and ensure tea/coffee urns are filled, operational, and available throughout service periods.
- Serve patients tea, coffee, beverages, snacks, and meals in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
- Assist patients with menu selection and ensure menu cards are completed accurately according to patient preferences and dietary requirements.
- Submit completed menu cards to the kitchen within the required timeframes.
- Maintain and update patient diet lists before each meal service.
- Communicate all diet changes, special requests, and dietary restrictions to the kitchen promptly and accurately.
- Transport food trolleys safely and efficiently between the kitchen and wards, ensuring meals are delivered on time.
- Verify that meal trays are complete, accurate, and meet the required quality standards before delivery to patients.
- Serve meals in accordance with hospital procedures and provide excellent patient service at all times.
- Collect trays promptly after meals and ensure ward areas remain clean, tidy, and free from used meal service items.
- Maintain strict control of crockery, cutlery, and serving equipment, ensuring all items are accounted for and stored securely.
- Wash, sanitise, and handle cutlery and service equipment in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure cutlery is presented appropriately and in line with hospital and Tsebo service standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic ward kitchen and service area at all times.
- Adhere to all food safety, health and safety, infection control, and hygiene procedures.
- Wear the prescribed uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Provide exceptional patient-focused service that promotes comfort, dignity, and a positive dining
