Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in a similar maintenance environment.
  • 5 to 10 years' customer service experience.
  • 5 to 10 years' practical experience in plumbing, building maintenance, painting and carpentry.
  • Sound knowledge of building maintenance practices.
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry and painting skills.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in maintenance activities.
  • Ability to identify faults and implement practical solutions.
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance principles.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple maintenance tasks simultaneously.
  • Work Carry out general maintenance, fabric repairs and building maintenance activities.
  • Perform maintenance tasks relating to: Carpentry
  • Basic electrical work
  • Building maintenance
  • Painting
  • Tiling
  • Flooring
  • Plumbing
  • Waterproofing
  • Roofing
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are supported by a logged work order.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks as scheduled.
  • Attend to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns.
  • Provide material requirements to the Building Manager for maintenance work.
  • Complete and submit work orders daily.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
  • Provide after-hours support for breakdowns where required.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel when necessary.
  • Construct cupboards and shelving as requested.
  • Install ceiling boards and cornices.
  • Conduct minor furniture repairs.
  • Install picture frames, whiteboards and related fixtures.
  • Hang doors and install door frames.
  • Fit door locks, handles and associated hardware.
  • Prepare and paint interior and exterior ceilings.
  • Prepare and paint walls, doors, window frames and skirtings.
  • Perform annual road and parking bay line marking.
  • Paint garden furniture and signage poles.
  • Conduct minor paint touch-ups as requested.
  • Assist with meeting room setups.
  • Support office moves and relocation activities.
  • Assist with moving furniture, equipment, materials and boxes.
  • Conduct inspections according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Perform bi-monthly maintenance inspections across Kwa Shukela, SASRI and STC sites.
  • Log all identified faults through the Helpdesk system.
  • Report maintenance concerns proactively.
  • Work collaboratively with team members.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Support management initiatives and departmental objectives.
  • Deliver professional and customer-focused service at all times.
  • Undertake any reasonable task requested by management.
  • Provide emergency and after-hours maintenance support when required.
  • Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Adhere to Tsebo Facilities Solutions' Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
