Food Services Aid

Western Cape Government: Department of Health and Wellness is recruiting for Food Services Aid in Beaufort West Hospital, Central Karoo District.

Minimum Requirements

• Appropriate experience in an Industrial Food Service Unit, within a hospital environment.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge of hygiene, occupational health, HACCP and safety principles The ability to prepare meals according to standardized recipes.
• The incumbent must be strong enough to lift heavy objects and be on their feet the entire day. Willingness to work overtime, shifts (weekends and public holidays).
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks emanating from preparation and serving of food. Maintain general hygiene and safety standards in the Food Service Unit. Assist in the receiving, safe storage and stock control of food supplies. Assist with the informal in-service training of new employees.
