Western Cape Government: Department of Health and Wellness is recruiting for Clinical Nurse Practitioner Grade 1 to 2 (PHC) (4 posts) in Malmesbury CDC (1 post), Mooreesburg CDC (2 posts), Equity Malmesbury.

Minimum Requirements

  • Basic R425qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment Treatment and Care, accredited with SANC (R48) OR A 4-year bachelor’s degree in nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post graduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Care Nursing.
  • Grade 1: A Minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A Minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the periods referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience in the specific speciality after obtaining the one-year post-basic qualification as mentioned above. OR A post graduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Care Nursing.
  • A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license. Willingness to work at other Clinics, Satellites, mobiles within the sub-district, when required.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel). Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Nursing and public service legislation. Appropriate experience in a primary health care setting. Appropriate experience in rendering a support service.

Responsibilities

  • The effective execution and assist with the management of relevant Curative Programs within the scope of practice and to be an advocate for the patient to ensure the provision of necessary health care. The effective execution and assist with the management of relevant Child Health within the scope of practice and to be an advocate for the patient to ensure the provision of necessary health care. The effective execution and assist with the management of relevant Women’s Health within the scope of practice and to be an advocate for the patient to ensure the provision of necessary health care. The effective execution and assist with the management of relevant HAST programs within the scope of practice and to be an advocate for the patient to ensure the provision of necessary health care. The effective provision of high-quality services measured by outcomes of all of the quality assurance activities.
