Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 3 (General Nursing: Male and Female Psychiatry Ward)

Western Cape Government: Department of Health and Wellness is recruiting for Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 3 (General Nursing: Male and Female Psychiatry Ward) in Hermanus Hospital, Overstrand Sub-District, Overberg District.

Minimum Requirements

• Good communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to function/make decisions independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Department of Health Western Cape. Be able to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Grade 1: None after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
• Willingness to work shifts, night duty, overtime, public holidays and weekends. Relieve and rotate in all areas within the Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of the nursing care plans, laws and regulations relevant to nursing and health care. Implement standards, practices, criteria, and indicators for quality assurance. Utilize human, material, and physical resources efficiently and effectively. Effective Information Management.
