Western Cape Government: Department of Health and Wellness is recruiting for Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 3 (General) (Training relief: ICU, Highcare and Renal) (Contract until 31 January 2027)) in George Regional Hospital, Chief Directorate: Rural Health District.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 1: None after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
• Knowledge of the nursing processes and procedures as outlined in Nursing Act and SANC regulations. Professionalism, good Interpersonal communication skills, leadership skills and flexibility. Skills to plan, organize & coordinate the service by analysing, problem solving and decision making.
• Willingness to perform duties at irregular hours, including night duty, overtime, stand-by.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality patient care regarding the identification of nursing care needs, the planning & implementation of nursing care and the education of nursing & other personnel. Render advanced clinical nursing care and support clinical staff with surgical & medical procedures. Utilize human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self- development. Display of core values of the Department of Health WCG in the execution of duties.
